Chi Galatea Huynh, fascinating designer for Galatea, began his jewelry career at a young age, apprenticing to his father – a master jeweler in the family's home country. Huynh took this honor very seriously and performed tasks like sweeping, cleaning, and creating ring after ring only to be told to melt it down and start over because it wasn't round enough. Gradually, he made his way up to a respected and talented designer himself and created Galatea as a way to develop his love of nature and jewelry.
Today, Galatea employs more than designers and jewelers; they've created an Olympic team of craftsman who all share in the founder's philosophy and love for their trade. Every design is first sketched by hand and then sculpted, detailed, and finished to the highest standard of an old world Artisan, but also combined with new inventive techniques developed at Galatea. Chi Galatea Huynh, designer and founder of Galatea, says that his inspiration for this unique collection came from Leonard Da Vinci himself. When Huynh was in high school, he read the Da Vinci's notebooks and found a specific quote that would stay with him forever:

This inspirational message laid the foundation for a jewelry line that has the ability to draw in colors, light, and images creating a magical illusion where the gem changes colors in different angles and from various points of view.
